I am excited to participate in the 37th Annual The Ben to the Shore, which supports the Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation!
This year will be my fourth ride.Six days after last year ride my PSA results came back, which turned into getting an MRI. Next step turned into a biopsy and on September 28, 2023 character building results, my world changed that day.
Prostate Cancer
November 22,2023 Surgery
Procedure(s) (LRB): 5 1/2 hrs.
1. Robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (Retzius-sparing)
2. Bilateral pelvic lymph node dissection (external iliac, obturator, hypogastric, and perivesical packets).
The healing process is slow but mentally since the diagnosis I have been in a dark place with no escape. The end of January another PSA and finally some light, doctor has released me back to my activities and in Feb training for the ride starts and in the words of David Goggins stop being a little bitch its time to suffer,mentally it is still tough and a work in progress. So this July's ride is more than a ride to me.
